Welcome to Social Media 301: Advanced Social Media for Business (a.k.a. "How to Use Social Technology for Measurable Results").

The day will be filled with examples of how organizations are succeeding using different social media tools and tactics.

You will leave with a clear understanding of what you can do to start using social media for your organization. It's about ideas and implementation.

The training day will be broken into 5 sessions, with ample opportunity for Q&A along the way.

Session 1: Essential Attributes
• The (free) tools that are at your fingertips and how to use them

To start off the day, we will review the most popular social media platforms in use today. We will show examples of ways that organizations are effectively using Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, LinkedIn, YouTube, Email, and more. You'll learn what makes for success on each of these platforms.

In addition to clear, concrete ideas, you'll also learn how your own ideas and creativity are the best thing you can bring to the table once you know how to use the platforms strategically.

Session 2: Integration
• Both online and off-line, your social media tools can be integrated with each other and the rest of your organization's work flow and sales cycle.

After we take a look at these social tools, it's time to start building something. Many of the tools can be used together. Certainly, most of your content should be shared in a variety of ways. This can happen efficiently! You will also learn how to make your website "social" by integrating social platforms into your own domain.

It's fun to see how all this stuff can work together and builds on itself!

Session 3: Software that Helps
• Finding the right tools that make your life easier

It's true that social media can be a time waster. But it shouldn't be. Part of managing a solid social media presence is knowing what tools and software helps make it easy for you.

This session is not about social media platforms themselves, but about how to access them easily and effectively.

Session 4: Using Social Tools On-the-Go
• How to run social media from your mobile devices

Using social media well means knowing how to use it from your smartphone or mobile device (iPhone, Droid, Blackberry, iPad, etc.). Did you know that Twitter actually works better from a mobile interface?

We'll help you understand how to leverage your time through the possibility in your pocket.

Session 5: Metrics and Analysis
• Social media might be the most measurable marketing tool ever

Yes, there are hard numbers that can be measured. No, this is not all you track. We will teach you what can be measured and how. We'll teach you what numbers matter, and which ones don't. And we'll show you how to find all this data.

Most importantly, we'll look for the meaning of the different sets of data you can collect.

What we won't cover:
• Everything under the sun
• How to set up accounts
• Everything taught in 101 & 201
• Defining the basics of the platforms
